Nilly is a main character from the Doctor Proctor's Fart Powder series. He is an 11 year-old boy who goes to Dolgen School. He has no known last name.

Background[]

Nilly is a short boy who has red hair and freckles. When he was born he was originally going to be named William, but the priest would not allow such a short boy to have such a long name. Since they described him as "nearly" invisible, his name became Nilly. He lives in Oslo, Norway with his mom and sister on Cannon Avenue, in between Dstupidy is shown to be a good-natured, yet also slightly cocky and energetic kid who loves bragging to others about himself. Despite this he is very brave and adventurous, and is able to do almost anything. He is an avid fan of music, especially French cancan dancing and plays the trumpet in his school band, though he isn't very good at it. Despite this he is also a lot smarter than most kids his age. He has had a pet spider named Perry as of book 2 and loves exotic animals. He often reads the book "Animals You Wish Didn't Exist". Every night he likes to perform a puppet show from the window of his house for Lisa to watch. Like Doctor Proctor and Lisa, he also likes Jell-O.

Despite his positive relationship with his friends, Nilly has a very dysfunctional relationship with his family. His mother and sister are always extremely rude to him, and he has no father. They regularly take Nilly for granted and only think about themselves. However in book 5, it's revealed that his mother still loves him. Nilly is also antagonized by Truls and Trym for being short. In book 5 they force Nilly to eat snow that a dog peed on.
